Payment Policy

Monthly Tuition

All lessons at the Rubinstein Music Academy are tax-deductible. Tuition is based on a 10-month (38-week) academic year, from September through June, and includes scheduled Winter and Spring Breaks as outlined in the Academy Calendar.

Monthly tuition is due by the first scheduled lesson of each month or no later than the 10th calendar day of the month, regardless of the number of lessons in that month or any student absences.

Tuition is based on annual enrollment rather than the number of lessons in a particular month. Therefore, monthly tuition is not prorated, and no credits or refunds are issued for missed lessons except as provided under the Academy’s makeup lesson policy.

A $30 late payment fee will be assessed if monthly tuition is not paid in full by the due date.

The Rubinstein Music Academy offers several convenient payment options. For more information CLICK HERE.

Registration Fee

A non-refundable annual registration fee of $35 per student is due with each completed registration form.

Attendance Policy

Missed Lessons

If a student is unable to attend a lesson or class in person, they may attend it virtually at their regularly scheduled lesson time.

If a student is unable to attend either in person or online, they must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to qualify for one make-up lesson per semester. Make-up lessons are scheduled based on the teacher’s availability and are offered as a courtesy. If the offered make-up time cannot be accommodated, the make-up lesson is considered forfeited.

Lessons missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as lessons missed without prior notice, are not eligible for a make-up lesson, tuition credit, or refund.

Students may exchange lesson times with another Rubinstein Music Academy student by mutual agreement. It is the responsibility of both families to arrange the lesson exchange, notify the teacher in advance, and obtain the teacher’s approval before the lesson takes place.

Severe Weather

When severe weather or other hazardous conditions make in-person lessons unsafe, lessons will be conducted online at the student’s regularly scheduled lesson time.

Teacher’s Temporary Absence

In the event of a teacher’s temporary absence due to illness, professional performance commitments, or other unforeseen circumstances, lessons will be conducted either online (virtually) or by a qualified substitute teacher.

Students and parents will be notified in advance by the teacher or the Rubinstein Music Academy whenever possible. Every effort will be made to ensure continuity of instruction and to minimize any disruption to the student’s musical education.

Lessons Termination

If a student wishes to withdraw at any point, one month’s notice with payment is required. In the case of irregular attendance, repeated failure to prepare assigned material,
or disruptive behavior, the teacher may terminate lessons. A one-month grace period with parent notification will precede the termination of lessons.
